February 25th Update

In the Works:

  • New Assistant Superintendent has been hired for MountainView, his name is JR and he starts on Wednesday 03/08/2023
  • As we inch closer to spring/summer and transition season, we will begin to focus once again on the bermudagrass base and promoting its health as soon as it breaks dormancy
  • Tree work will continue as needed, we are analyzing all shade all tree root issues and making decisions based on turfgrass health, cart path issues and playability
  • Planning stages of 2023 aerification and overseed schedule and 2023 fairway topdressing program
  • Preparations will begin for the 2023 Women’s Collegiate held at MountainView on 03/17-03/19/2023

2023 MV Golf Course Renovation Project

  • Still working the bunker sand angle, I am confident we will get the white sand we prefer for the project, still sourcing a vendor
  • Directional boring is ongoing, currently on location near #8 MV, this is the 2nd of 7 total bores
  • Irrigation mainline from #9 green region to PG region will be installed in the coming week or so
  • Rough cart path from #9 green region to PG region has been leveled
  • Land clearing for nursery and sand/materials storage is complete
  • Bunker sand will start to be delivered in next 30 days or so, storage will be located in MV parking lot where we traditionally store Fairway Topdressing sand
  • Full start date of May 1st, with Mountain View golf course closure for estimated 6 months
  • Golf course will be a full construction site while closed, projects will all be in various stages of implementation
  • New tees, new bunkers, new irrigation system, drainage work, turf reductions and cart path work all included in the project
