Jane

Matt Hudson, PGA

Matt brings over 30 years of industry experience at clubs of all types. From high end private to high volume daily fee to PGA TOUR event experience.Each of these stops in my past have prepared Matt to provide an exceptional experience for our residents and guests at MountainView and The Preserve. Matt was elected to PGA Membership in 2006 and has a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Ferris State University. In addition to the above-mentioned credentials, Matt was selected as Southern Chapter Southwest Section PGA Golf Professional of the Year in 2021. An accomplished teacher as well, many residents in SaddleBrooke have trusted Matt to either help begin their journey with golf or sharpen the skills of the more experienced player. Matt directs the Golf Operation as a whole outside of any on-course agronomic responsibilities. From the Golf Shop, Starters, and Rangers, Matt’s goal is to add value to the SaddleBrooke community through the golf operation and provide a welcoming environment to our outside players.
 

Matt is a native of Battle Creek, MI and has lived in Arizona since 2010. Matt remarks that he loves the desert and it’s dry, warm weather. As many residents have heard him state before, you don’t have to shovel sunshine. Outside of golf Matt likes to officiate high school and middle school basketball and volleyball. Matt was married to his wife Lisa in 2018. They reside in Oro Valley where Matt is a step-father to Anthony (24) and Kobe (20).

Paul Hallock

With over 30 years of golf industry experience, including more than 20 years as a Golf Course Superintendent, Paul’s knowledge, experience, desire to maintain and improve golf course conditions daily has stood the test of time.  Paul Holds an Associate of Science Degree in Turfgrass Management, received from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and has his Class A certification through the Golf Course Superintendent Association of America. Paul has participated in more than 200 seminars/webinars and professional continuing education classes. As Director of Golf Course Maintenance, Paul is responsible daily for Mountain View and Preserve Golf Courses. He manages a staff of more than 30 team members and is economically responsible for budgets and resources exceeding $3 million. Prior to joining the SaddleBrooke TWO team, Paul’s career experience began after graduating from college when he was hired as an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent at Falmouth Country Club in Maine. His career path (9 golf courses) has wound through high end private golf clubs, has also included resort golf courses and public golf courses. Paul has been responsible for 3 multi-course operations in his career, including a 27-hole property, a 36-hole property and a 45-hole property. He has also been involved in the construction of a new golf course and has rebuilt/restored more than one golf course.

 

Paul was born, raised, and formally educated in Massachusetts. He has spent his whole professional career in the golf industry and loves the game of golf. He is married to his high school sweetheart Kathleen and celebrated 25 years of marriage in 2021. They have two amazing children, Rachel, 18 and Michael, 15. In his time off he enjoys spending time with his family, watching movies and relaxing.

Mike Karpe

A Twin Cities native, dontcha know!  Mike began his journey into the golf industry at the age of 12 as a Caddie.  The hook was he just started to play golf and could play for free if he caddies 3 times in a week.   Mike moved to Tucson in 2006 for an opportunity to leave the snow and cold for the beauty of southern Arizona.  His dream from the age of 13 was to be a PGA Member and that dream came true in 2007.  In addition to being a PGA Member, Mike is quite the accomplished player with four career holes in ones. Mike’s previous career experiences have been at The Gallery Golf Club (AZ), Southview Country Club (MN), and North Oaks Golf Club (MN).  Mike’s teaching philosophy is FUN – Fundamentals, Understanding and Nurturing!  Mike strongly believes that the most important part of his role at SaddleBrooke TWO is building relationships with the residents and enriching their lives through golf.

 

When away from MountainView and The Preserve, Mike enjoys playing golf, watching his favorite teams, volunteering for the Tucson Roadrunner Hockey Club, and spending time with his son, Jacob. Jacob just started asking to play golf as well!!

Richard Easley

Richard Easley

Assistant Golf Professional

Richard Easley was born and raised in Gillette, Wyoming alongside his five sisters. Richard moved to Tucson in 2016 to explore a career in the golf industry. Over the last several years, Richard as held the title of Assistant Golf Professional at both Quarry Pines in Marana, AZ and El Conquistador in Oro Valley, AZ before joining the team at SaddleBrooke TWO in 2021. Richard understands the importance of growing the game of golf and has been a First Tee Instructor and PGA Junior League Coach for 5 years. He also has been a Girls for Golf Instructor for over 6 years. Throughout his career he has had four hole in ones and is working towards finishing his PGA Education and attaining his Class A card. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 children, traveling, trying new food, and seeing new places. When is his not playing golf, his other hobbies include bowling (5 perfect 300 games), hiking, and spending time with family.
